Corbetta and its surroundings

The high number of villas with parks-the favorite residences of the Milanese nobles of old-makes Corbetta a well-known and extremely pleasant tourist attraction.

Today’s lively little town, descendant of the ancient Curia Picta of the Longobard age and of the medieval Castrum Sancti Ambrosii , leading communities in the parish and a strategic  outpost for the Archbishop of Milan, has its origins in the Celtic times.

Leaving Corbetta for a trip, between the Navigli and the Ticino river, a wild oasis a stone’s throw from Milan, you can take a tour that will lead you through the nature, where you may have glimpses of architectural and artistic beauty and enjoy the local products from traditions, festivals, markets and small towns such as Abbiategrasso, the most important artistic centre of the South-West Milan or Morimondo, a small town visited every year by many tourists that go to see the great Abbey, monastic treasure of lower Lombardy,  whose architecture and building materials are a living proof of the history dating from the Middle Ages to nowadays.
